Vision Pro, Apple’s Latest Product That Aims to Revolutionize Augmented Reality!

blog

During the WWDC 2023 event, Apple launched a new product that promises to change the world of virtual reality. Vision Pro, the most revolutionary device in Apple’s portfolio, impressed the audience with its remarkable features.

Apple Vision Pro is an augmented reality headset. As Apple representatives claim, Vision Pro can be used in almost any environment and can serve as a powerful tool to enhance your gaming, communication, and entertainment experience. Thanks to its advanced features, Apple’s revolutionary product can be used for completing office tasks, as well as for relaxing while traveling.

Without a doubt, the most impressive aspect of Apple’s revolutionary product, Vision Pro, is its versatility. The headset can be used while standing, on a plane, on a chair, or while moving around. This level of flexibility makes Apple’s new product stand out in a market full of similar gadgets.

Vision Pro – design and hardware

Vision Pro comes with a minimalist design, specific to Apple. Inside this headset, Apple has also integrated a computer. Apple representatives say that Vision Pro marks the transition from desktop/mobile computing to spatial computing. Vision Pro integrates two small displays that come with revolutionary technology, never before seen on any Apple product. Two displays with a pixel density higher than two 4K televisions.

The sound is also top-level. Vision Pro uses special sensors to scan the room you are in so that it can then reproduce the Spatial Audio that Apple proudly presents in all its audio presentations. The headset has several integrated speakers and will probably reproduce sound just as well as the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBooks, which have taken sound on a mobile device to another level.

The front part of Apple’s new product is made of glass, with another display underneath it, facing outward, along with a series of cameras that capture the images in front of you and display them on the two internal screens. This allows you to be part of the place you are in while running various apps overlaid on top of the local images. Depending on the scenario, that external display will show the image of your eyes and face during moments when you interact with people nearby.

Vision Pro – processors and battery

The data processing part of Vision Pro is handled by an Apple M2 processor together with another processor developed especially for this headset, Apple R1. These processors are responsible for everything related to video and audio data processing, and they do this silently. The operating system developed specifically for Vision Pro is called VisionOS. Vision Pro is powered by an external battery, attached to the headset through a cable. As shown in the presentation videos, the battery can be placed in a trouser pocket.

What you can do with Apple Vision Pro

The headset integrates a series of cameras and sensors that allow everything to be controlled only through eye and hand movements. Basically, there is no need for anything connected, but if desired, you can use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, or Bluetooth headphones.

All apps developed for iOS and iPadOS will also work on Vision Pro. In addition, Apple is working closely with game developers to bring new games to this platform.

Apple Vision Pro – price and availability

When it comes to price, Vision Pro does not seem to be one of Apple’s most affordable products. Apparently, quality came “bundled” with a matching price. The price announced by Apple for Vision Pro is $3,499.

Regarding availability, Apple representatives announced that Vision Pro would be available for purchase starting next year.
